Extensions are real hair, but they don't get nutrients from your scalp. So they dry out faster than your own hair. Care isn't optional. It's the thing that decides whether a set lasts two months or six.
Brush from the bottom up. Hold around the attachment with one hand while you comb with the other, so you're not pulling on the tape or the bond.
Keep shampoo away from the attachments. Wash the lengths, not where the attachment sits. Sulfate-free shampoo is gentler.
Use oil or leave-in on the ends when the hair is damp, never at the roots. A little goes a long way.
What we see most often when a set is ruined too early is tangles that were left to sit. A tangled set dries out, snaps and goes dull within weeks. Spend two minutes every evening combing through, and you avoid it.
And sleep with your hair in a loose braid or low ponytail. Friction against the pillow at night is one of the biggest thieves of lifespan.
